Juana Bordas is attending The International Latino Book Awards, now in it’s 16th year. These awards are presented by Latino Literacy Now in partnership with Las Comadres para las Americas and the Instituto Cervantes. Since the Awards were founded over a thousand books have been honored.
Juana Bordas is one of the nominees with her already award winning book “The Power of Latino Leadership. Inclusion, Community and Contribution” The Awards, already the largest awards in the USA celebrating achievements in Latino literature, are leading a wave of cultural and economic development within the Latino community.

CHCI board meeting

Juana Bordas attended the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) board meeting on May 7th, 2014. The CHCI was created to develop the next generation of Latino leaders with a clear vision of a strong America. This is beeing possible with the many contributions of educated and civic-minded Latino leaders engaged in and contributing to all aspects of U.S. society.

Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Convention

May 10 – Salt Lake City, Utah
Three Hundred and fifty savvy Latino entrepreneurs gathered for the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Convention. The event celebrated the launch of Juana’s book The Power of Latino Leadership. Wells Fargo bought 350 complimentary copies for participants making Utah the “hot bed” of Latino leadership....
Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers (YHCA)

April 18 – Dallas, Texas
Juana was the keynote speaker for the Latina Style Business Series. Attended by hundreds of Latina professionals, Juana’s message was received enthusiastically: “Latinos will be the architects of a new America, one with diversity at its core. We are charged to educate our youth and to continue integrating immigrants into our country.”

A Woman’s Place at The Museum of the New South

March 7 – 8 – Charlotte, North Carolina
On March 7th, Juana joined the Museum to celebrate Charlotte’s “Woman of the Year” event entitled A Woman’s Place. The event explores the evolving roles of women in the New South and celebrates their outstanding accomplishments.
Juana led a seminar with community members the next day entitled: De Colores: Leading in a Multicultural Community. The seminar recognizes the changing demographics in Charlotte and the growing Latino population that is creating a diverse and colorful community.
